The Humane Society of Tipton County is a no-kill shelter that helps rescue unwanted pets in our community. We are the first and only organization of our kind in the area, known for successfully finding homes for those we rescue.

Our mission is to help control the pet population through spay and neuter awareness, preventing animal neglect and cruelty, placing homeless animals into loving homes, reuniting lost and found animals with their proper owners, and educating the community about animal welfare. We strive to instill  appreciation, care, and compassion for all animals, great and small within our community.

Our furry friends trust us to help them find their forever homes. That is why we call on the locals in our community, particularly those interested in adopting one of our lovable, family-friendly pets.

Spay and Neuter

All animals adopted from us will be spayed or neutered prior to finalizing an adoption. This is one of the critical elements in addressing canine and feline populations that have exceeded the capacity of the local community to adequately care for them.

Our organization is committed to educating fellow community members on the issues of the domestic and feral animal population. We design programs that focus on raising awareness on this topic, shedding light on what we can do to address these concerns.

Events and Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer-based group is known for hosting events where individuals can help enrich the lives of animals in need. You may stop by and visit our gatherings to inquire about volunteering or start by filling out an application using the link below.

Trap-Neuter-Return, also lknown as Trap-Neuter-Release or "TNR," is the most humane and effective method known for managing feral and stray cats and reducing their numbers. The cats, who typically live together in a group called a colony, are trapped and brought to a veterinary clinic. They're then spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies where appropriate, and eartipped. After they've recovered from their surgeries, the cats are returned back to their original territory where a caretaker provides regular food and shelter. When foster or permanent homes are available, young kittens and friendly adults are removed and placed for adoption.
